HINTON TECHNOLOGY CENTER BUILDING

ManTech and TSM occupy offices on the top floor. Space is still available on the ground floor. Contact... for info.

Thanks to two separate appropriations secured by Senator Robert C. Byrd, a technology center has been built in downtown Hinton. Congressman Rahall assisted Senator Byrd for an additional EDA grant. A loan through the WV Development office completed the financing.

Architect Dan Hart's building design is inspired by the Parker Opera House building that was on the same lot.   It is located on the corner of Third Avenue and Summers Street.  In addition to two floors of office space totalling approx. 20,000 sq. ft. per floor, there is a two-level parking garage below Summers Street level.

Hinton has become home for several high-tech companies. These companies have recognized the benefits to having offices here. Hinton enjoys an area of low crime and is free of the traffic congestion seen in large cities. The ability to work and live in an area full of outdoor recreational opportunities is extremely enticing to the technology professionals who need to "unwind" from the intense and hectic pace in the office.

Congressman Nick J. Rahall, II has worked in partnership with area communities  to stress the importance of "Technology, Transportation and Tourism" as the future of this region.  The Congressman, working with 4-C Economic Development Authority and the Greenbrier Valley Economic Development Authority, developed the I-64 High Tech Corridor with anchor points of technology buildings at the airports in Lewisburg and Beckley with an anchor at Hinton. This corridor has seen success as development is underway at both airport anchor points and the Hinton anchor.
